Gao Lab Academic Community Development Initiative</div>
To all alumni, colleagues, friends, and supporters of Gao Lab: <br>
<div style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Over the past four decades, Gao Lab has grown through dedication, collaboration, and the continuous transmission of academic spirit. Under the long-standing leadership of Professor Weijun Gao, the laboratory has cultivated expertise in urban environmental simulation, energy system analysis, green building, and environmental technologies, forming a stable and internationally influential academic community. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Countless young scholars have developed their academic careers here. Numerous international collaborations have originated from this platform. The spirit of scholarship and the sense of responsibility toward society have been passed down from one generation to the next.
As Professor Gao approaches his retirement in February 2027, we recognize that what truly deserves to be sustained is not merely a collection of past achievements, but the academic spirit, professional network, and mutual support system that define this community.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Therefore, we hereby propose the establishment of the “Gao Lab Academic Community Development Initiative”, along with the creation of the Gao Lab Development Fund. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Dear Alumni and Members of Gao Laboratory,<br>
<div style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;After forty years of dedicated teaching and research, Professor Weijun Gao is approaching an important milestone—his retirement. Over the decades, Professor Gao has devoted immense effort to education, research, and the cultivation of young scholars, accompanying and witnessing the growth of generations of students.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;For each of us, the time spent in Gao Laboratory represents not only a critical stage of academic training, but also one of the most valuable and formative periods of our lives.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;With this in mind, we sincerely propose the compilation of a '''Gao Laboratory Memoir''' as a tribute to Professor Gao’s long-standing guidance and leadership, and as a collective record of our shared memories.</div>

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The memoir aims to present authentic reflections from the students’ perspective, capturing Professor Gao’s influence in daily supervision, research discussions, and laboratory life.
It seeks to preserve the most precious and irreplaceable aspects of the mentor–student relationship.
